Built on nearly two decades of experience in the industry, we have grown over the years from humble beginnings to now being one of the most respected tree surgeons in the Great London & Essex area. All of our staff have been trained to the highest standard and have completed City & Guilds accredited tree surgery and timber qualifications.

Our Story

Dean Tucker got his start in tree work at the age of 18, when he was just a young sapling himself. After 7 years, he made the decision to go freelance, doing, in his own words "all the hard work other companies didn't like or couldn't do". After a decade in the industry, he started Wychwood Tree Surgeons and hasn't looked back in the eight years since.

For Wychwood, tree surgery is a labour of love. We relish the challenge of figuring out the best and safest way to tackle our customers' problems and see each job as a puzzle to solve, or even a work of art.

Tree surgery is potentially hazardous work and mistakes made through poor practice can be costly and devastating, which is why you need to work with a company you can trust. Our ability to give customers peace of mind has led to repeat business, recommendations and our services being used by local authorities across London and Essex.

How do I know I’m choosing a good tree surgeon?
At Wychwood Tree Surgeons, all of our staff are fully qualified to British Standard BS3998, which is the recommendation for tree works. We are also covered for £5m public liability and £10m employers liability insurance and are a registered waste carrier.

We are local authority-approved and pick up a large part of our business from repeat customers and recommendations.

Are you environmentally friendly?
Tree planting is one of Wychwood Tree Surgeon’s key concerns as part of our forestry services, which also include conservation and regeneration. Additionally, we also sell or recycle the leftover wood as mulch, logs or chips to limit waste.
What insurance do you have?
In the unlikely event that something should go wrong, we £5m public liability and £10m employers liability insurance.

What happens to waste?
At Wychwood Tree Surgeons, we are a registered waste carrier and we leave your garden exactly as we found it, just with vastly nicer trees. We're also an eco-friendly company who recycle and sell wood from our tree surgery operations as firewood, which is delivered free throughout Essex and Greater London, and further afield for a small delivery charge.
